The first day went really well. We set off from land's end about 10, after signing the "end to end" book and the obligatory photo.
Our next stop was lizard point and the most southerly point of the mainland. That was great. It's a fantastic piece of coastline, with waves crashing against the cliffs and birds riding the wind. The vegetation seemed to be like a green tablecloth, brightly decorated with yellow and purple flowers hanging over the edge of the land and halfway down the cliffs. The scenery was stunning, the fauna fabulous and the narrow lanes between 6ft hedgerows terrifying. On then through Truro to our bed and breakfast about 6.30.
Leg index 3/10 - happy to stop
Saddle sore index 3/10. Happy to stop
Hill index 7/10. Long, steep, sometimes both.
Number of falls: Douglas 1, Robert 1
Breakages / punctures: 0
